What a rain!
One thing that still suprises us is how much it can rain in Haifa. I always thought that everything in the mid-east was hot and dry with hardly any rain. Athough this is true from March to November, the winter months in Israel can get cold (mid 40's -- that's farenheit) and VERY rainly. Last night was a great example. I have never seen rain like that--just torrential-- as if we are in the midst of a hurricane. The streets become like rivers and the steps down Mount Carmel look like Niagra Falls. The best part is that the gardens begin to look so lush this time of year since they are geting all the water they want!
